RARITAN, N.J., and BASEL, Switzerland – Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, a global leader of in vitro diagnostics, will discuss the latest trends and technology in transfusion medicine and introduce its newly installed regional leader for Germany, Austria and Switzerland at the 2019 International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) congress, June 22-26 in Basel.

Ortho will welcome attendees to booth No. 1431 in Conference Center Basel and participate in conversations around the following topics:

  • How a total immunohematology solution combining column agglutination technology, different harmonized automation options and middleware can increase efficiencies in complex networks, including control of your operations from a single, centralized portal.
  • How automation of complex immunohematology testing such as extended phenotype, antibody identification, rare antigen typing and antibody titrations allows you to optimize your resources.
  • How Ortho combines a history of trusted results in immunohematology and infectious disease donor screening with state-of-the-art support tools maximizing the uptime of your laboratory.

Present at the booth will be Ortho’s newly installed managing director responsible for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Waclaw Lukowicz. Lukowicz has a proven track record of growing and developing international markets across the globe and looks forward to discussing how Ortho solutions can benefit customers in central Europe.

“Ortho is the leader globally in immunohematology with an absolute commitment to serving European markets, so it is a huge honor to represent this company for the first time at such a prestigious transfusion medicine congress right here in Switzerland,” Lukowicz said. “I am excited to meet our customers face to face, and to talk to health care leaders about the key role Ortho can play in Europe’s transfusion services labs.”

On display at Ortho’s booth will be its ORTHO VISION® and ORTHO VISION® Max analyzers, and its full range of immunohematology solutions, as well as the VITROS® 3600 Immunodiagnostic System and its assay menu for infectious disease screening in donors’ blood, including the VITROS® HIV Combo Test and the VITROS® Anti-T. cruzi assay.
